  • July 13 -- Coming Sunday, 2-5pm, We'll visit Acoustic Image acousticimage.com Hosted by Renowned Audiophile Elliot Midwood. A first time visit for our Society! Don North of Donald North Audio (DNA) will present his new, high-efficiency loudspeaker, Studio, which utilizes a custom-built dipole active woofer. Bob Attiyeh of Yarlung Records will present the music produced and state-of-the-art recording techniques employed by the independent classical label.

  • August 24 -- Sunday, August 24, 12-4pm: HeadRoom Returns to LA! Bigger and More Fun than Ever! The Los Angeles and Orange County Audio Society will once again hold its quietest meeting of the year at Holiday Inn in Buena Park, featuring the world of headphone hi-fi. Tyll Hertsens, CEO of HeadRoom will return with the company’s entire line of headphone and desktop audio gear. Also in attendance will be a number of enthusiastic headphone hobbyists showing off their personal rigs, and a couple of surprise manufacturers will showcase their headphone-related gear. Fantastic Raffle: HeadRoom will be providing its top-of-the-line Desktop Portable Amp and a pair of their Desktop Speaker Stands as raffle prizes and more coming. Eastwind Import will be there to offer audiophile XRCDs, SACDs and Japanese import CDs. Great shopping! Amazing presentation! Lunch will be served. Free parking. Guests and new members are invited.   • September -- Sunday, September 14, 2-5pm: Home Theater Doctor in Redondo Beach, Our Host is top audiophile Sean Tretiak. In Person: Incredible speaker designer Richard Vandersteen of Vandersteen Audio will present his acclaimed Model 5As and Quatros and discuss his unique design principles. Fabulous opportunity to talk to one of the World's Best Speaker Designers!! He will be here just for our Society!! Superb raffle is being planned and delicious lunch will be served. Guests and new members are invited.

  • October -- Sunday, October 26, 2-5pm: Weinhart Design in Bel Air, weinhartdesign.com owned and operated by Lifetime Member David Weinhart, former owner Ambrosia AV. David will share his best kept secrets. The theme of the event is “Discovering What Is Possible”. There will be demonstrations and comparisons of the best of analog and best of digital, featuring the 700 pound, cost-no-object Clearaudio Statement Turntable, Meridian's reference 808.2 CD player, and the Sooloos Music Server with Stahl-Tek’s state-of-the-art Vekian D/A converter, all played on the world renowned Magico speakers.
    Several superb guests are flying in to speak to the Society and answer questions.
    Wally Malewicz, the designer of Wally Tools for turntables and numerous audio products, will bring all of his set up tools (special pricing for guests). At this special event, Wally is graciously offering a Turntable Clinic to demonstrate how to properly and scientifically set up a turntable and get the most out of analog LPs, highlighting the advantages of his incomparable Wally Tools.
    Representatives from Meridian will be on hand to discuss their role in the “state of the art” in CD playback, DSP speakers, surround processors, electronics and video displays and processing.
    Brad Paulsen, National Sales Manager for Sooloos LLC will discuss the Sooloos Music Server solution to obtain state-of-the-art performance from your music collection, with a tap of your finger. Brad will be explaining the benefits of its intuitive user interface, features it offers and why it offers new performance levels that can not be equaled by a CD player or conventional CD transport.   • November -- Sunny Audio Video, Covina

  • December -- Giant 15th Anniverary Celebration and Gala! Scheduled for 11:30AM 'til 4:00PM on December 13. Please save the date! Our Highest Honor, the 2008 Founders Award, will be presented to Ray Kimber, President of Kimber Kable. Ray will Keynote the Gala. John Atkinson, Editor of Stereophile, will address the Society and bring us his unique and brilliant perspective on the state of our hobby. Lori Williams, our Senior Vice President and renowned LA audiophile, will also address the Society. The Event will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Holiday Inn, Buena Park, at Beach Blvd. and The 91. Fantastic surprises and delicious food will be featured!
